Thank you Michelle for showcasing David Beaucage Johnson’s work. They are all very individual and have great impact.

“Song for the Night Sun” is amazing and the title adds to the depth.

I’ve not been active for the past five weeks as I have been choreographing and co-directing the latest UK tour of Whistle Down the Wind and all my time was taken up. Now that life is settling down again, I am able to write and visit blogs once more.

Thanks, Lana. Visionary art is a little broad a label! I am aware of it and it can range from the fully abstracted to the imaginary. I was looking for a narrower term.

Very lovely. And I have to say, when it comes to N. America, no place can hold a candle to Canada for stunning landscapes.

“The landscape, as we know it, is clearly visible, the places recognizable and yet, different. There is little separation between art, landscape, culture and Spirit. Their painting vibrate with an energy that speaks of the mysteries of different layers of existence. For lack of an existing term, I call them visionary landscapes.”

There actually IS an existing term for that & you’re very close to it; it’s “visionary” art.

Some awe-inspiring art, thanks for bringing it here where I can see. Now I really want to see those ‘teaching rocks’ so near, and yet I’ve never been (I’m assuming Petroglyphs Provincial Park?)
